About GMD®
We build technology that helps detect natural hazards earlier and assess them better – for safer communities and more resilient infrastructure.
Mission
GMD® protects communities, infrastructure and businesses from the impact of heavy rain, floods, debris flows and rockfall. We combine sensing, data analysis and artificial intelligence with hands-on experience in the field.
Our story
GMD® GmbH was founded in Innsbruck, Austria, in February 2024. With GMD® Swiss GmbH in Landquart, Graubünden, we also have a base in Switzerland. Our projects and research collaborations extend well beyond the Alps.
Team
An interdisciplinary team covering geoinformatics, hydrology and hydraulics, data science, embedded software, hardware and full-stack development.
Contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals
Our work contributes to SDG 9 (resilient infrastructure), SDG 11 (reducing disaster impact in cities and communities), SDG 13 (climate adaptation) and SDG 15 (protecting mountain ecosystems).
Partners
We work with municipalities, infrastructure operators, research institutions and funding bodies in Austria, Switzerland and Germany.
